Representatives from downtown Little Rock eatery, SOUTHERN TAIL BREWING dropped by Comet Nation (Mills Middle School) today and gifted us 66 new and gently used books.

We are one of a number of recipients from their 925 Book Drive.

According to their website, "The 925 book drive is a '9 to 5' themed community literacy event held on September 25 (9/25) to honor Dolly Parton and support children's literacy." Southern Tail Brewing's goal was to collect 925 new or gently used children's and young adult books for students across Central Arkansas schools.

Learning is required at Comet Nation and we know that reading is fundamental. Thank you Southern Tail Brewing for the books and joining with us in imparting a love for reading.

🎵 More than 150 PCSSD students sharpened their skills together at a districtwide All‑Region preparatory workshop this past weekend! 🎶

Sylvan Hills Junior High’s choir hosted singers from Mills Middle, Robinson High, Robinson Middle, and Sylvan Hills Middle schools. The extra reps built confidence ahead of All‑Region auditions on October 3. Good luck!

“C” US DIFFERENTLY

Our overall district letter grade has improved from a D to a C, and schools across the district have experienced some big progress.

Here’s what we mean:
🚀 4 schools jumped multiple grade levels
🏅 11 schools improved by at least one letter grade
📈 19 schools increased their overall accountability scores

Our AVID Binders are our Comet organization system and include a pencil pouch (with pencils, eraser, pen and highlighter), Agenda book/planner, dividers (for each class), and ruled lined paper.
