Principal: Damian Patterson

Damian Patterson received his undergraduate degree from Philander Smith College in Elementary Education and his Graduate degree  from UALR in Education Administration and Supervision. He has been a K-12 educator and administrator in the Little Rock metro area for 25 years. Mr. Patterson has been an Assistant Principal in the Pulaski County Special School District since 2013 at Maumelle Middle School, Mills University Studies High School, and Joe T. Robinson High School. Prior to becoming an Administrator, he spent 14 years as a K-12 teacher in Mathematics and Science and has previously held the position of Head Football and Basketball coach for many years.

As a forward-thinking visionary and educational leader, he is committed to excellence, student and parent engagement, positive behavior intervention, inclusive learning, and school improvement initiatives. His educational philosophy is based on his uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, and commitment to collective teacher efficacy. 

charles rimmer

Assistant Principal: Charles Rimmer

Mr. Rimmer is a 2013 graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He has spent the last 10 years teaching social studies and coaching football. He earned his Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

gabriel jackson

Assistant Principal: Dr. Gabriel Jackson

Dr. Gabriel Jackson has spent 18 years in education in various teaching and leadership capacities throughout the state of Arkansas and is excited to join Mills University Studies High School! Dr. Jackson received his Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University, and an Educational Doctorate from Arkansas Tech University. His dissertation entitled, “The Impact of Teacher Mentoring on Novice Educator Retention in High Poverty Schools” sought to ascertain what is needed to build a cadre of educators that can not be enriched professionally, but can impact student achievement as well. His down time is spent barbecuing, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and four children. Carpe Diem!

Assistant Principal (Part Time): Mary Carolyn Bailey

Mary Carolyn Bailey began her educational career with PCSSD in 1989 at Sylvan Hills Middle School before moving to Mississippi where she taught for 8 years. After returning to PCSSD in 2001, Mrs. Bailey taught at Fuller (Mills) Middle School for six years.  In 2007, Mrs. Bailey moved to Robinson High School where she served as Assistant Principal for 5 years and Principal for 8 years.  The past 3 years, Mrs. Bailey has worked at the Central office where she supported the district’s Special Education and reading Initiatives. Mrs. Bailey has been married to her husband, Richard for 17 years and has three sons and one grandson that she absolutely adores. She looks forward to beginning her 24th year with PCSSD and her 33rd year in education serving as an Assistant Principal at Mills Middle and High Schools. Go Comets!
